Join Paul at Strandhill Surf school
as a Surf Instructor
Strandhill Surf School is one of Irelandʼs leading surf schools. We work with school groups, universities, sports organisations, tourists and recreational surfers. The summer period of June, July, August and September is our peak season where we run daily lessons, summer camps for children and other summer contracts.
Each lesson takes three hours from start to finish, two of these are on the beach. There is an opportunity to do three to four lessons daily during the peak which are run back to back.
An instructorʼs responsibility is to be able to conduct an International Surfing Association standard lesson. A big part of the job is lifeguarding which is of primary importance. A key part of the job is creating a positive and encouraging environment. Thereʼs a lot of fun to be had although safety is paramount. Cleaning and responsibility for the gear is also required.
Having level 1 surf coaching and beach lifeguard qualifications is a bonus, however it is not essential as they may be obtained in March and April if successful, through training and induction in Ireland with the head instructor.
Working Days: Negotiable
Accomodation: Can be organised
