The first time I heard about Work and travel USA program was during the first week of my second year at university. After talking to my friend about what we’d like to do after this semester and telling her one thing I’d really love to do was live in America but had no idea how to do it, she asked me if I’d looked at LJPC and explained that they help students to get temporary working visas for the summer holidays. I couldn’t wait to get home and look them up!
I successfully spent all evening not doing any work in favour of reading other people’s work and travel USA experiences and just knew that this was something I HAD to sign up for! And after about nine months I have been standing at the airport in Washington, DC.
Every day I got to meet hundreds of people and the staff got to live on site and as if working with a great group of friends wasn’t enough, on our days off we got to visit loads of amazing places. At the end of the first week I reflected that it had been one of the most eventful weeks of my life – I’d left my friends and family behind, moved to another country and in with a load of strangers, started a new job!
I’d never felt more interesting in my life!’,’I traveled from Vilnius to Washington by plane (with a transfer in Denmark), and then drove the bus to Ocean City for about 4 hours.
I lived in a small apartment with my two friends and shared this house with the other students from Europe.
I worked at clarion resort fontainebleau hotel.
Don’t swim at night because there are sharks.
It was great. The man carrying the apartment was really good. The other side of the house was beach, boardwalk.
This hotel is very nice, if you want to work in the summer because all the staff are very friendly and each year takes a variety of people from all over the world to work. Ocean city is the perfect place if you want to not only work but also to have a good time because there are so many attractions and places where you can go to have fun.
